Correspondence Course Unit

This unit came in to existence vide government resolution No CVT/1073/8334 dt. 4/10/1973.
Objectives:

The main object of CCU (Correspondence Course Unit) is to provide D.T.Ed training to untrained teachers, who are working is Local Self - Governement (Z.P., N.P./MNP/ Cantonment Board), Government Aided and un-aided Schools in Maharashtra.

Procedure:

Government has already fixed the norms for selection procedure. The general procedure includes printing of Prospectus and Application Forms, division - wise distribution of forms, Collecting filled up forms in a specific period of time, division, wise scrutiny of forms by selection committees, and finally preparing a list of eligible and non-eligible candidates and submitting this list to MSCERT. The chairman of the selection commitee is Dy. Director of Education and the members include principals of DIET, Education Officers (Pri/Sec.) Science advisors, principals of D.Ed Colleges and various educational experts. After submission of list to MSCERT the list of eligible candidates are re-checked and a new list of candidates are prepared and again sent to the respective divisons. Director of MSCERT approves the final list of eligible candidates for correspondence course and is publish. Above 200-220 days are taken for completing all these formalities.

Training Centre's:

For training of untrained teacher the total number of D.T.Ed. Colleges are 79 in which 110 in service division's are approved for training. The intake capacity for this training is 5350 and the fees collected per candidate is Rs. 8000/- (Rupees eight thousand per year) The D.T.Ed. Corse for untrained teacher's is conducted in three sessions.

  1. Gudance session 28 days
  2. In-service session-1 28 days
  3. In-service session-2 28 days

Total 84 days

If any candidate remains absent for more than 8 days an extra fees of Rs. 800/- is collected from them and have to added corrective session (truti satra). In this way they complete their course like the regular D.Ed. candidate and appear for the exam. Conducted by Maharashtra Government.

Variousprogrammers undertaken under correspondence Course. Educational materials beneficial for trainees are prepared and distributed in all training centres in
  1. From the 50% fund of Admission fees, MSCERT has offeredRs. 40,000/- cheques to each centre for procuring computers.

  2. Printing of Handbooks for English and math's is done inGovernment Press.

  3. Practice question sets and 1st year educational materialhave already been distributed.

  4. Question set for 2nd year also is ready and will bedistributed soon.

  5. Handbook for first year of four subject and handbook forsecond year of two subject distributed to all centres.
